"Report Card on America's Infrastructure." ASCE  Advances Technology, Encourages Lifelong Learning, Promotes Professionalism and the Profession, Develops Civil Engineer Leaders and Advocates Infrastructure and Environmental Stewardship. Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) represents more than 144,000 members of the civil engineering profession worldwide and is America's oldest national engineering society.

    ACSE Vision 2025
The American Society for Civil Engineers has a passion for preparing the civil engineering profession for tomorrow’s world. The publications The Vision for Civil Engineering in 2025 and Achieving the Vision for Civil Engineering in 2025: A Roadmap for the Profession mark the culmination of almost eight years of effort to redefine what it will mean to be a civil engineer in the world of the future. Vision 2025 represents the collective wisdom of more than 60 experts from around the world and presents an aspirational vision for what the future can and should be. Numerous individual civil engineers and civil engineering organizations around the world have embraced this appeal for a new, enhanced role for the profession. They call on civil engineers to control their own destiny rather than letting events control it for them.

  • ASIS International (ASIS)
As the preeminent organization for security professionals worldwide, ASIS has an important role to play in helping the private sector secure its business and critical infrastructure, whether from natural disaster, accidents or planned actions, such as terrorist attacks, vandalism, etc. ASIS had previously chosen not to promulgate guidelines and standards, but world events have brought to the forefront the need for a professional security organization to spearhead an initiative to create security advisory provisions. By addressing specific concerns and issues inherent to the security industry, security guidelines and standards will better serve the needs of security professionals by increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security practices and solutions, as well as enhancing the professionalism of the industry.
